Innovative Drainage Solution Enables Combi Oven Installation at Beal Vale Primary School

IDL demonstrates creative problem-solving with uphill drainage system

IDL recently completed a successful installation of a new Convotherm Max Combi Oven at Beal Vale Primary School, overcoming a significant site challenge through innovative engineering.

The project presented an unusual obstacle: the ideal location for the new combi oven had no drainage facilities nearby. Rather than suggesting a costly relocation or extensive plumbing modifications, our engineering team proposed and implemented a specialised solution using a drain pump system.

“This installation demonstrated our commitment to finding practical solutions for our education sector clients,” said Scott Thresh, our lead engineer on the project. “By implementing a drain pump system, we were able to effectively pump the water uphill to connect with existing drainage infrastructure elsewhere in the building.”

The installation marks another successful project in our growing portfolio of work within educational establishments, where we understand the importance of minimising disruption and working within existing infrastructure constraints.

“What we’ve demonstrated at Beal Vale Primary School is that even if you haven’t got conventional drainage access, it’s still entirely possible to have a professional combi oven installed,” added Scott. “We can effectively pump the water uphill to connect with drainage points elsewhere in the building, giving our clients much more freedom in kitchen design.”
