When Pendennis Superyachts Limited needed specialised galley modifications for the super yacht Neninka, they called on IDL’s expertise. What began as a simple oven service quickly evolved into a comprehensive galley enhancement project that showcased our team’s innovative problem-solving abilities.
The initial challenge involved adding a second oven within strict cabinet constraints. While the original Rational oven pulled out on a drawer for servicing, the new unit required side and rear access. Our solution? IDL engineered a custom mobile base stand and utilised the Rational stacking kit enhanced with bespoke marine fixings specifically designed by our team to withstand maritime conditions.
The project expanded to include upgrading the main cook suite with a four-zone induction hob, removing an underutilised warming cupboard to create valuable storage space, and building specialised racks for the over shelves. In two separate galley locations, IDL transformed standard bin areas into adjustable-height shelving systems, dramatically increasing the functional storage capacity. Perhaps the most technically demanding aspect was designing and fabricating custom storage drawers that met the exacting standards required for marine applications.
