Scott Thresh, one of our Catering Engineers

IDL is delighted to announce that Catering Engineer, Scott Thresh has successfully qualified to service and install commercial catering gas equipment, achieving his COMCAT certification.

Scott completed his training at Parts Town, a recognised leader in gas equipment training, where he undertook qualifications including CCCN1 and COMCAT levels 1, 3, and 5. These certifications enable Scott to work on gas pipework up to 35mm in diameter and service a wide range of commercial kitchen equipment such as ranges, fryers, salamanders, combi ovens, and more.

During the course, Scott gained hands-on experience performing practical tasks, including safely working on gas equipment, conducting leak tests, and measuring gas pressures. The training also involved rigorous written assessments, which Scott passed with high scores, often on his first attempt. The course structure allowed for retakes to ensure full understanding and competence.

Reflecting on his experience, Scott said, “Parts Town is the best place to go for training. They really help you understand what is needed to pass your gas qualifications. The practical work and tests were challenging but very rewarding. I found the course really good and helpful.”

Scott’s new qualifications significantly enhance IDL’s ability to provide expert gas servicing and installation for commercial catering equipment, ensuring safety and compliance for our clients.
