We’re thrilled to welcome a new member of staff, Adam Thresh to the IDL family. Adam steps into the role of an aspiring catering engineer, following closely in the footsteps of his brother, Scott, who has already carved a niche for himself within the industry. Adam’s journey into the world of engineering, however, takes a path marked by diverse experiences and a pivotal career shift.
Years ago, Adam embarked on a career in engineering with his first year as an apprentice TIG welder. Despite showing promising potential, the challenges of extensive travel led him to reassess his career path. This reflection prompted a significant shift, leading Adam to a longstanding tenure with Morrisons Supermarkets, where he honed a different set of skills and gained valuable experience in a new field.
The call of engineering, combined with joining the family business, ultimately drew Adam back to his roots. With open arms, we welcomed Adam to IDL, eager to provide him with the platform to reignite his passion for engineering. Recognising the importance of continuous learning and development, we have enrolled Adam in a Level 3 TIG & MIG Welding course with Barnsley College, facilitated by Betterweld. This course represents not just a step towards mastering the technical skills required but also marks the beginning of Adam’s journey to becoming a full-fledged catering engineer.
